(SFLPB ‘14 part 4)
In case you didn’t “get” the message of SFVPN from its weird wordplay and big space battles, I spelled it out real clear on the cover!!!
A favorite panel from SFVPN.
I haven’t done enough weird double-space compositions like this one from SFVPN lately. I did a good sequence with them in SF#2. I mean it’s a regular thing to do but I was inspired by the Speed Racer film by the W siblings who created a funky language out of overlapping closeups with wide shots and layering them back and forth.
SFVPN, by Ryan Cecil Smith
This is my new comic! Finally an SF book that is nothing but space fighting and verbal-play novelty. Starring the scientist fighters of Space Fleet, versus the profiteering nasties of the Pirate Nation. Risograph printed in red and black, 12 pages, 12cm x 18cm. Buy it right now HERE.
S.F. is about a little boy named Hupa Dupa whose family gets blown up by pirates so he’s recruited into THE SPACE FLEET SCIENTIFIC FOUNDATION SPECIAL FORCES to fight them. S.F.S.F.S.F. are racing across the stars to form ann alliance of good planets against evil ones - and win the galactic war against the terrorist Pirate Nation Though he’s been armed with the ultra-rar Samurai Zero gun & he’s being trained by the most elite scientist-fighters in S.F. Hupa Dupa is still just a little kid. He will “try his best” to “take positiv action” in order to help “somehow!”
The Schulz Library just got a copy. I get to read it tonight. Boy, oh boy, oh boy!
